Carpenters Local 405

Carpenters Local 405 is located in San Jose, California and has jurisdiction over the carpentry work in Santa Clara County and San Benito County.   Santa Clara County is the home of Silicon Valley, Stanford University, Santa Clara University, and San Jose State University.

San Benito County is a county located in the Coast Range Mountains, south of San Jose.  The county seat is Hollister, which includes approximately three-fifths of the county's population. El Camino Real passes through the county and includes one mission in San Juan Bautista.

Union carpenters are the force that improves the safety and comfort of our community . Every day we put the tools on and upgrade older buildings and open the doors to new ones. We improve the infrastructure including transportation ,schools, and other important public and private facilities needed in our state.

The majority of the membership of Carpenters Local 405 work under the provisions of the Carpenters Master Agreement for Northern California.  This Local Union also represents some Carpenters who work in the public sector.

Carpenters Local 405 is affiliated with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council and the Santa Clara & San Benito Counties Building Trades Council.

A state-approved Apprenticeship Program is operated by the Carpenters Training Committee for Northern California.  The Training Committee also provides Journeylevel Upgrade Courses that are available to all members.   Click here to see a list of currently scheduled classes.
